BAKED FRENCH TOAST




¼ cup margarine

½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed

½ teaspoon cinnamon

2 eggs

¼ cup milk

6 slices French bread

1-2 tablespoons powdered sugar

12 ripe strawberries or blueberries

Maple syrup

Melt the margarine in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Pour into an oven-proof pan. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the melted margarine. In another bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Stir until well blended. Dip the slices of bread in the egg and milk mixture, coating both sides. Place in the oven-proof pan. Pour the remaining egg-milk mixture over the bread. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes at 375 degrees. Sprinkle the powdered sugar on top of each French-toast . Top with fresh fruit, if desired.
