Father's Day
On this Father’s Day, children young and old, take the time to tell their fathers how special they are.
Father’s Day is celebrated the third Sunday of June. It’s a day to make your dad, granddad, uncle, brother, or father figure in your life feel special. Even though most dads will tell you they want nothing done for them on this day, we all know they like it when you plan some sort of surprise.
Whether it’s a grand slam breakfast, a BBQ, or TV time with dad being the king of the remote for the day, make sure to tell him you love him and how special he is to you. Share a time when he did something that was unforgettable to you.
Great things to do for DAD.• Give Dad a day just for him. Give him some alone time if this is something he has little of. • Write a poem for him. Let him know how special he is.• Wash Dad’s car, place a ribbon or bow on the door handle.• Make Dad’s favorite breakfast or dinner.• Set up a game of miniature golf in your backyard.• Play any game and let him win. • Cut the grass, take out the trash, or do an unexpected chore.• If you are handy around the house, fix those “unwanted” broken items he has been putting off.• Tell him about special times you remember as a child. Be specific as to why you cherish these memories. • Make Dad coupons for a back or foot massage.
Great Gifts
• If your Dad is a cigar enthusiast, buy him his favorite brand of cigars.
• Rent his favorite movie (The Godfather Trilogy is always a favorite). Watch it with him.
• Take him to get a pedicure and manicure (he’ll love it even if he says it’s not for him).
• Take him to get a massage.
• Take him to play a round of golf.
• Buy him a case of his favorite beer.
• Give him a day of your time.
• Listen to him talk, about anything.
