PARTY ACTIVITIES
Party Activities for party themed celebrations or birthday parties.
Great parties don't have to have great activities or games, but properly planned activities can add that special magic touch.
When planning your party themed celebration, plan several activities your guest can enjoy. They can match your party theme or match what your guests most enjoy.
Leave enough free time for your guest just to enjoy each other and the party you prepared for them.
Most guests enjoy spending time together with great food and great conversation, but when you mix in great activities your party gets GREAT all around!
PLAY TELEPHONE:
Have the guest sit in a row or circle. One guest quickly whispers a message to the next, who whispers it to the next, and so forth. The message travels down the line until the last guest says it out loud. Usually the message has changed considerably and hilariously.
FACE PAINTING:
For specific designs you may use small stencils to draw a variety of different designs on face. Purchase non-toxic paint for face painting. Take a picture of each guest and have them save it as souvenirs.
TATTOO THE CIRCUS LADY
Materials: Large inflatable doll and a variety of colored markers.
Give the inflatable lady some hair with yarn.
Allow guests to draw tattoos on the inflatable doll to create a circus lady.
BOTTLE GUESSING GAME:
Fill a jar with M&M's, jelly beans, or any party theme item. Ask each guest to guess how much of the item is in the bottle. The guest closest to the correct amount wins the jar.
• For a Baby Shower, fill jar with pacifiers.
• For a western party, fill jar with sheriff badges.
FREEZE DANCE:
Freeze dance works for all ages.
Turn on the music and have your guests dance to their favorite music. Turn it off and guests “freeze”. The first person who moves before the music comes back on must sit out the next round, but he can help you monitor the other guests for the “freezing” endurance.
If your having a Sports Theme or
Olympic Theme Party Activities,
assign acting roles to each of your guests. “Hire” a coach, referee, cheerleader, ultimate fan, etc. Have someone video tape the event and be the TV cameraperson and also assign someone the role of sportscaster.
• At the end of the party watch the video tape and have an awards ceremony. Give awards for most athletic, funniest moment, etc.
• Hold a bean-bag race. Have your guests walk to a goal while balancing the bags on their heads. If a bag drops, that guest has to start again. For a challenge, choose partners and have one guest close their eyes while the other guests steers them to the finish line.
• Have an animal dress up or any kind of dress up that matches your party theme celebration. Guests will have fun making up costumes they can wear and you can award prizes for the best or most original.
