Looking for a different, fun, foolproof entertaining party games? Have fun and laughs with these great party games.
When choosing your games ask yourself the following questions.
• Who are the people whom you will invite?
• Will there be the same amount of women as men?
• Will it be near or on a holiday?
• What will the season be and how will people be dressed?
• Think about space.
• Will you need to budget for prizes?
Create an atmosphere where guest can be comfortable and relaxed.
Have pre-party games, contests and icebreakers to have guests get to know one another.
RULES OF THE GAME
• Remember the object of the game you play is to have fun.
• Have a sense of humor.
• Create positive feelings, with an emphasis of making everyone feel good while playing (no nastiness or criticism or put-downs).
• Give freedom for creation of new rules or changing the way the game is usually played, but not on-the-spot accommodations for the benefit of one player getting out of a jam.
• Have a special game-playing outfit: a lucky hat, pin, bandana, or shirt.
Indoor Games
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Supplies: Paper with the name of a famous person written on it. Straight pins or transparent tape.
Object of game: To guess who you are.
How to play: A famous person's name is pinned on the back of each guest. The guests approach one another, asking questions about themselves. The response can only be a "yes" or "no". The first person to guess who they are wins a prize.
Suggested names:
Neil Armstrong, Sherlock Holmes, Marilyn Monroe, Mr. T, Dolly Parton, Pinocchio, Miss Piggy, Stevie Wonder, James Bond, Superman, Batman, Dracula, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Captain Spock, Albert Einstein.
COUPLES QUIZ
Supplies: Paper and pencil. Planned questions.
Object of game: To see which couple knows the other best.
How to play: Before the party have 20 questions for each set of couples playing. Choose couples to play. One person in each of the couples leaves their partner, spouse, or date. They answer the questions the way they think their partner would respond. Their answers are written down. When the missing partners return, they are asked the same questions but give their own answers. One point is given for each correct answer. In the next round, reverse the roles.
WHAT'S IN THE.....
Supplies: A thick sock, filled with familiar objects, such as a spoon, button, thimble, paper clip, key, hair clip, matchbook...choose up to 20 items. Paper and pencil.
Object of game: To remember as many objects as possible.
How to play: Pass the sock around to the guests, giving each about 1 minute to feel the objects. Take the sock away and hand each person a paper and pencil. Ask players to write down as many items as they can remember. The sock is later opened to check for correct answers.
IF THE SOCK FITS.....WEAR IT.
Supplies: Several pairs of thick gloves, like oven mitts, fabric-lined gloves, mittens, garden or work gloves. Several pairs of stockings and socks. Timer. Blindfolds.
Object of game: To wear as many stockings and socks as possible.
How to play: To begin the game, players are instructed to put a glove on each hand (non-matching). The players then are blind folded. Socks are put in a pile in the center of the room. On a signal, players locate the pile of socks in the middle of the circle and put on as many as they can before time is called. The player with the most stockings and sock on, wins.
